NAACP Issues a Threat to Tea Party Members

Posted on July 13, 2010 at 11:00 pm by Andy Sochor

The news has been spreading about the members of the New Black Panther party being caught on video intimidating voters at a polling place. The trial was dropped and now more video has surfaced on one of the defendants — King Samir Shabazz — calling for blacks to “kill some crackers” and “their babies” (Link to article on WorldNetDaily — Warning: strong language).

As news of the Black Panthers spread, efforts by the NAACP escalated to condemn racism. Not racism by the Black Panthers, no. But racism among Tea Party members.

Take the quote from Shabazz: “You want freedom? You’re gonna have to kill some crackers! You’re gonna have to kill some of their babies!” Now, replace “crackers” with a derogatory word for blacks. Then, imagine this was spoken by a Tea Party member. You think there would be an uproar over this? Absolutely! And the NAACP — along with many, many others — would rightfully condemn it. Racism is an abomination — all forms of racism, which includes the racism of a black person against whites.

Yet the NAACP is not condemning Shabazz and the Black Panthers. Instead, the organization passed a resolution yesterday condemning racism within tea parties.

What racism within the tea parties? Those on the left have been desperately looking for evidence of this. Finding no evidence (even with Andrew Breitbart’s offer of $100,000 for evidence of such remains unclaimed), they must resort to empty accusations.

But the NAACP has a message. If you consider yourself a member of the Tea Party, then listen up. The organization has issued a threat on its Twitter account.

Msg to Tea Party: We will not allow u to send bigots into the Capitol, call civil rts heroes epithets & act like you didnt send em #NAACP101 (NAACP Twitter post, July 12th, 7:50pm)

The event at the Capitol to which they are referring is the 8/28 rally being organized by Glenn Beck. The NAACP says they will not allow the Tea Parties to send “bigots” to the Capitol and then act like they didn’t sent them.

Remember, despite all the allegations, there has been no evidence of racism being a problem among the Tea Parties. Yet the NAACP is sure that “bigots” will be there in force among that group.

Question: Could the NAACP plant people at the rally who will say racist things, or hold signs with racist messages, so the NAACP can cite “proof” that the Tea Parties are racist? Sure they could.

Will they? That’s an interesting question, isn’t it? It is already known that there are those on the left want to infiltrate the Tea Party rallies. And according to the NAACP’s Twitter post, it almost appears that they expect a problem at the rally and that the Tea Parties will deny that their members are the ones spewing racism. Maybe the NAACP knows something we don’t know.

I sincerely hope nothing happens and that my suspicions prove to be unfounded.

I also hope, with equal sincerity, that we as a country quit seeing things in terms of race. It does not matter what one’s skin color is. What matters is that we treat one another with mutual respect. If we disagree with one another, we should be able to have a reasoned debate without one being accused of racism, simply because he happens to be white and disagrees with the policies of a President who happens to be black. It really doesn’t matter. Let’s focus on ideas and policies rather than skin color and ancestry.
