Kagan: Another Godless Liberal

Posted on June 11, 2010 at 10:33 am by Tim Haile

President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Elena Kagan, is finally coming under real scrutiny. Documents from the Clinton Library and elsewhere prove that Kagan supports late-term abortion, strict gun control laws, doctor-assisted patient suicide and same-sex marriage. These views firmly position her as a radical, anti-God, anti-Bible, anti-traditional values liberal. This is why Barack Hussein Obama desperately wants her seated on the highest Court of our land.

It is one thing for the President to appoint an advisor or czar who holds such positions, for at least until now, these unelected officials are limited in their power. However, it is an entirely different matter for him to nominate for the Supreme Court one who holds such aberrant views. Unlike advisors and czars, this particular presidential appointment is a lifetime appointment. The position is shared with only 8 other people, meaning that there aren’t very many others to counteract her ideology. Given that the Court already contains some liberals and moderates, it is quite possible that some of Kagan’s views will impact Court decisions. While it is true that if appointed, Kagan will be replacing a another liberal, based upon what we now know, she is more liberal than Stevens.

The fundamental purpose of the Constitution is to protect the lives and liberties of the people. The fundamental purpose of Supreme Court Justices is to properly apply the principles of the Constitution. How is Elena Kagan qualified for this job when she has no respect for the sanctity of human life? How can she make decisions that are consistent with the tenor of the Constitution when her own worldview contradicts the Constitution? Her appointment must be blocked. While it is possible that there will always be enough votes to counteract her leftist ideology, the risk is simply too great.

  1. Before Obama took office, this was the thing I was most worried about — his potential Supreme Court appointees. I was not a fan of Sotomayor, but I’m afraid that Kagan may be much worse. I do hope this is the last opening on the Court while he’s in office.
