Response to President Calderon

Posted on May 23, 2010 at 12:10 am by Andy Sochor

The attacks and criticisms of Arizona’s recently passed immigration law keep coming. One of the latest has come from Mexican President Felipe Calderon. Speaking from the floor of Congress, Calderon criticized the Arizona law while misrepresenting (deliberately?) the actual law. Democrats boldly and shamelessly gave him a standing ovation.

I had thought about responding to President Calderon’s remarks. But after seeing the response from Rep. Tom McClintock (CA), I don’t think I could say it any better. Below is McClintock’s response to Calderon which he delivered from the floor of the House.

It is a shame that the current Administration and the majority party in Congress is so quick to side with a foreign leader who is critical of the state of Arizona, rather than defend and enforce our existing laws.

  1. Rep. McClintock certainly stated the argument eloquently and minus the double talk and rhetoric we’re hearing so often these days. Wish there were more Congressmen/politicians like him. Thanks for sharing.

  2. McClintock stated it well. I would add that those unpatriotic democrats are actually worse than theMexican president: He at least is a foreigner – Real Americans should be angered by the fact that the democrats praised Calderone’s indictment of the people of Arizona. In so doing, they join with a foreign leader in the condemnation of Americans!
