For 11 months we have watched in utter disgust and disbelief as Barack Obama and his marxist administration marches methodically on in its relentless assault upon our Constitution and our American way of life. This administration has made so many radical decisions and undertaken so many socialistic policies that we are becoming desensitized by them. We have simply come to expect that with every new day or two the Obama administration will unveil another spirit crushing, freedom draining, big government practice or policy. Sadly, too few of our ”representatives” are actually representing us, which leaves us wondering what we are to do.
I keep wondering which new Obama policy will be the one that finally gets the attention of the American people to the degree that they object in substantial numbers. That day may have come. Harry Reid’s health reform bill contains provisions for taxpayer funded abortions. Page 122 of section 1303 states that health premiums will be paid into a U.S. Treasury account, and that funds from that account will be used to fund abortions. How can pro-life people conscientiously fund abortion? After all, we understand abortion to constitute murder. We see no difference between the killing of the unborn and the killing of the born. Many of us object to abortion even being “legally” available to others. How on earth can we then participate in the direct financing of abortion!
The Hyde Amendment will not protect us if Reid’s bill is passed. Harry Reid and other godless officials must remove this abortion funding provision from their bill. I admit to objecting to the very concept of government run health care on political and ideological grounds. However, my objection to abortion is upon moral grounds. No one should be forced to pay for procedures which he believes to be immoral and wrong. Others may be perfectly comfortable funding such inhumane practices and procedures, but many of us are not.
