More and more, Tim Geithner and others are describing the present recession as a “global” recession. Of course, they are right about this. The economic downturn is not limited to just the United States. However, it seems to me that this admission by current Obama apologists could place them in the awkward position of attributing considerable power and influence to former president Bush.
Obama and his apologists have long blamed president Bush and his “failed policies” for the the present economic crisis. Liberal pundits continue to make this charge. They speak repeatedly of the recession that the Obama administration “inherited from Bush.” Their newest mantra is that the Bush recession is even “worse” than what they first thought.
By admitting the fact of the “global” recession, and by charging George Bush with causing the recession, the Obama White House {unwittingly} turns George Bush into the most powerful man on the planet earth! They grant to him the ability to exert tremendous influence over world economic policies – so much power that Bush had the amazing ability to totally disrupt the entire world economy! Now that is power!
Interestingly, the media regularly depicted George Bush as an incompetent buffoon. But, according to Obama, George Bush had the ability to stop the entire world economy. Bush must have been acting for the press. In reality, he was a shrewd manipulator of world market forces.
Given Obama’s obvious ambitions, I suspect that he actually admires what Bush was able to accomplish. From a dictatorial perspective, George Bush possessed an enviable talent. According to Barack Obama, Bush was able to control the “global” economy. Any good dictator would salivate over the notion of possessing such power! Just imagine being able to bankrupt whole nations and shut down the global economy at one’s will! Most dictators would find the power to issue such a threat irresistible. Given the present direction of the US economy under Obama, it appears that Obama is already beginning to master the alleged recession inducing powers possessed by Mr. (or should it be “Master”) Bush. Obama is already quite adept at economy wrecking. He is presently practicing his Bush-recession-craft by destroying what is left of the US economy.
