Obama: “I Got the Sucker”

Posted on June 18, 2009 at 11:34 am by Andy Sochor

It is important that we are fair in our comments about President Barack Obama. This includes criticizing him for unwise and unconstitutional proposals and policies. But we should be willing to acknowledge his good accomplishments and commend him accordingly.

It has been easy, almost too easy, to criticize Obama in his first five months in office: soaring deficits, climbing unemployment, takeovers of the auto companies and banks, appointing tax cheats to cabinet positions and an admittedly biased judge to the Supreme Court, etc. But today I came across a story that shows that the things we know about Obama are not all negative.

During an interview on Tuesday, a fly was buzzing around and annoying the President. Obama waited for the fly to land, and then smacked it with his hand, killing it. Obama, obviously pleased with himself, said, “That was pretty impressive, wasn’t it? I got the sucker.” (video below)

PETA is not pleased.

So I want to commend the President for his quick reflexes, good hand-eye coordination, and for the fact that he upset the people at PETA.

I know it’s not much. But right now it’s about all I’ve got.

  1. The malicious murder of this fly could be Obama’s undoing. Obama’s impetuous actions show that he has grossly underestimated the natural balance of two great liberal philosophies: PETA and Sikhism (Reincarnation)! Let us suppose the very real possibility that the fly that Obama killed contained the spirit of Karl Marx. If so, and we have no reason to believe that it did not, then its purpose for obnoxiously buzzing around Obama’s head was in order to get his attention. Not for just any purpose, mind you, but for the express purpose of communicating his governing concepts and social engineering skills and methods to president Obama. There is simply no other viable reason for the fly’s actions. I suggest to the reader that Obama’s thoughtless and unethical treatment of this fly signals the demise of his entire socialistic agenda. With the fly now dead, the vital plans contained in that fly’s consciousness are forever lost. Obama will now flounder in his efforts to establish his empire. If only he had listened to PETA! (For those interested, a candle light vigil will be held for the Karl Marx fly. The fly’s remains have been secured and cremated, and they will be scattered over the Obama White House tonight at midnight).

  2. Actually, this event could show the failing of the secret service to protect the President.

Houseflies are capable of transmitting diseases, including salmonella, tuberculosis, and anthrax. Yet this fly was able to get past the tight security and attack the President. But Obama’s quick reaction foiled the insect’s plot.

Maybe this frightening experience will lead the President to re-think some things and turn the country in a different direction.
